The Upper School athletics program gives grades 9–12 students challenging, competitive opportunities that build leadership and prepare them for collegiate athletics — without compromising academic excellence.
Varsity, JV, and Freshman — a team for every athlete
Our Varsity teams represent The Hudson School at the highest level of interscholastic competition, including regional and state tournaments. Junior Varsity programs develop emerging players with intensive training and meaningful competitive experience. Freshman-level teams welcome athletes who are new to the sport or building foundational skills, with an emphasis on learning, participation, and confidence.

We actively support student-athletes who aspire to compete in college. Our staff provides guidance on NCAA eligibility requirements, assistance creating athletic profiles and highlight videos, opportunities to participate in college showcases, and connections to our alumni network of Hudson graduates competing at the collegiate level. Academic monitoring and college placement guidance ensure student-athletes are positioned for success in the classroom and in recruiting.

A proud tradition of competitive success
The 2024 Varsity Boys Basketball team achieved an impressive winning streak, capping a standout season. In 2019, our 7/8 Boys Basketball team captured the division championship with a victory over Stevens Coop. Across sports and seasons, Hudson student-athletes have earned all-league and all-state individual honors and advanced to regional and state tournament play.
