A clear path to Hudson.
The admissions team provides a clear and supportive pathway to joining our community. We walk families through every step, so you always know what comes next.
Admission built around your child.
At The Hudson School, finding the right educational fit is a collaborative process. We welcome applications from students who are excited about learning, eager to contribute to our community, and ready to embrace the opportunities a Hudson education offers. Admission decisions are based on student qualifications only: our policy is need-blind. Please contact our admissions office to confirm availability and application deadlines for the current cycle.
Three steps to apply.
-
Step 01
Submit the initial application
Apply through the Ravenna Hub. To begin, click the button below and create a profile on Ravenna, our online admissions platform. Until the initial application is submitted we have no record of it, so this first step puts your family on our radar.

Step 02
Student visit or interview
Once your application is in, we schedule a student visit or interview. There’s nothing to prepare or bring. It’s simply a chance for your child and our team to get to know one another.
-
Step 03
Complete your file
Submit your supplementary materials to complete the file. We bring completed files to our admissions committee and, during the rolling cycle, typically reach a decision within about two weeks, shared through Ravenna.

What families most often ask.
Do you require the ISEE or SSAT?
No. Standardized test scores (ISEE, SSAT) are optional and may be submitted but are not required for admission to The Hudson School.
Does applying for financial aid affect our admission decision?
Not at all. The Hudson School is a need-blind institution: admission decisions are based solely on student qualifications. Financial aid applications are reviewed separately by the Financial Aid Committee.
In which grades do you accept new students?
We accept applications for Preschool through Grade 12. Space varies by grade. Please contact our admissions office to confirm current availability and application deadlines.
What does the Middle and Upper School application include?
After the initial Ravenna application, your supplementary file should include teacher recommendations in both math and English, a full transcript with the most recent grade report, and samples of graded work, along with the Parent/Guardian Questionnaire, a School Records Request, and Fall Report Cards.
What does the PreK–4 application involve?
The PreK–4 application includes a standard application and application fee, a Parent/Guardian Questionnaire, a report card from your child’s previous school, a teacher recommendation, and a playdate interview.
Our current school doesn’t write recommendation letters at this age. What do we do?
Our teacher recommendation is a short, standardized checklist form rather than a formal letter. We’re happy to contact your child’s school directly and walk them through it.
What’s the timeline for the Early Notification cycle?
The Early Notification portal opens September 1, 2026. See the application deadlines above for all three cycles.
When will we hear back after applying or interviewing?
We bring completed files to our admissions committee. During our rolling cycle, we typically reach a decision within about two weeks of a file being complete, and decisions are shared in Ravenna.
How do we accept an offer and enroll?
You’ll log into your FACTS account to indicate your decision. Tuition accounts are also managed through FACTS.
