An education built on character.

Founded in 1978, The Hudson School has grown into one of Hoboken’s defining independent schools — without ever losing the close, principled community it started with.

A different kind of education, since 1978.

The Hudson School was founded in 1978 by Suellen Newman as an independent, coeducational day school for curious, motivated students. Today, under Head of School Rebekah Sollitto, Hudson pairs a rigorous, college-preparatory program with a genuinely humane culture — one where students are known by name and expected to treat one another with respect. Our foundations are three words: Compassion, Commitment, and Courage.

Our Foundations

Both of my boys enjoyed their first experience acting on stage at Hudson because theater is built into the curriculum. The sleepaway trips were fantastic growth experiences.
