A community enriched by the world.

The Hudson School proudly welcomes students from around the world. We offer a welcoming environment for international families and provide tailored support to help every student thrive academically and culturally.

Welcome, International Families

Your perspective makes us stronger.

Our international students bring valuable perspectives, experiences, and cultural richness that enhance the entire school community. We understand that applying to an American independent school as an international family involves unique considerations—and we’re here to support you through every step of the process, from initial inquiry through enrollment and visa documentation.

  • Initial Inquiry & Visit

Submit an inquiry and schedule a visit—in person or virtually. We strongly encourage families to experience our community firsthand, and virtual meetings with an admissions counselor are always available.

  • Application Submission

Submit by December 15 for priority consideration. Include official academic transcripts translated to English, English proficiency scores if applicable, teacher recommendations, and a personal statement.

  • Assessment & Interview

Assessments and interviews can be completed virtually. English proficiency evaluation is conducted by a THS teacher and may be done over Google Meet. TOEFL scores are not required.

  • Decision & Visa Support

Upon enrollment, we issue I-20 forms for students requiring F-1 visas. Processing typically takes 2–3 weeks and requires a signed contract, financial documentation, passport copy, and SEVIS fee confirmation.

English Proficiency

Flexible assessment. No TOEFL required.

Students whose primary language is not English may demonstrate proficiency through TOEFL, IELTS, the Duolingo English Test, an SSAT with Writing Sample, or an academic interview conducted by a THS teacher over Google Meet. Requirements are flexible based on grade level, prior English instruction, and demonstrated ability—we work with each family to find the most appropriate path.
