Three values. One community.
The Hudson School is built upon three core values — Courage, Compassion, and Commitment — that guide everything we do, from the classroom to the field to the broader world.
Courage, Compassion, and Commitment.
These are not aspirational slogans — they are the living fabric of daily life at THS, present in the classroom, on stage, on the field, and in every interaction.
Courage
Our students are constantly asked to demonstrate the physical, mental, and moral strength to persevere in difficult situations. Responsibility is built into the fabric of daily life at THS. Students know that they need to own their education — taking the first steps in asking for extra help, planning their time wisely, and trying new experiences they might have thought beyond them.
Compassion
Compassion is at the core of Hudson School life. Teachers and students participate in daily spirited discussion and vigorous debate, yet compassion is the foundation of learning. We seek to help students experience the power of kindness in all that we do — from everyday athletic competition to the larger questions we face as a society.
Commitment
A commitment to noble causes, academic endeavors, and personal integrity is central to a THS education. Not every student will breeze through every challenge — but a Hudson student knows that attending extra help, meeting with a teacher, and working alongside classmates are how they succeed.
Faculty who embody what they teach.
Our faculty embodies the values of Courage, Compassion, and Commitment every day, creating meaningful connections with students and fostering an environment of growth, integrity, and care. With an average of 16 years of teaching experience and 65% holding advanced degrees, our 55 faculty members are deeply invested in each student’s journey. Four of our teachers are Hudson School alumni themselves.
