Athletics at The Hudson School are open to every student. Our teams are built on healthy bodies and minds, sportsmanship, and a genuine love of sport, no matter your experience level.

Healthy bodies and minds

The Athletic Department focuses on building healthy bodies and minds. We strive to ensure that students participate in an appropriate amount of physical activity, and we hope to build a lifelong love of sports and athletics while instilling the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, fair play, and dedication. By encouraging our students to embrace an active lifestyle and exemplify those values, we believe they will grow and mature in body, mind, and character.

Soccer and basketball, open to every student regardless of experience, with an emphasis on teamwork, skill-building, and fun.

Our Teams

Sports open to every student

  • Middle School

    Soccer and basketball for grades 5–8. All students are welcome to participate, no matter their skill level or experience.

  • Upper School Varsity

    Basketball, cheer, soccer, track and field, and volleyball. Any upper school student may compete at the varsity level across the fall, winter, and spring seasons.

  • Open to All

    Our sports and activities are open to anyone who wishes to participate, regardless of skill or previous experience. There is a place for every Hornet.

  • Physical Education

    Upper School students complete Physical Education in grades 9-11, plus at least two additional years of team sports or independent study to meet our graduation requirements.
